This is the verse. (Or "My Mom thought I was watching porn")

in a field, a young woman jumps on a trampoline as her father yells at her to push herself. they're training to break a world record. the film explores the eccentricities of their dysfunctional, often disturbing relationship that hints at sexual abuse, aswell as the more obvious physical abuse.

'this is the verse', inspired loosely by the philip larkin poem 'this be the verse', was a no budget, collaboratively written and directed film by hayley scout stuart and francesca sophia, filmed one summer weekend. it is influenced by the dogma approach to filmmaking, and filmmakers harmony korine and werner herzog.
