This is part five of John Lennon's complete home demos from between 1975-1980. To understand the abbreviations I am using, please refer to part one:
I Don't Want To Lose You (1977, TD)
Free As A Bird, Take 1 (1977, TD)
I Don't Want To Lose You was featured in a musical in 2005 which was aptly named John Lennon. Originally, The Beatles planned to release this song with the third installment of the Anthology as the third "reunion" song, but Jeff Lynne had great difficulty making it suitable for release and the idea was shelved.
Free As A Bird was one of the songs that The Beatles finished and released for the first installment of the anthology.

Do you have from LLT the 1/1/76 interview with Mintz(spoke of Have You Heard.....) and the very rare interview Lisa Robinson on her show "The Inside Track" with John during the DF sessions? He talked of recording Nowhere Man and was far more interesting than the BBC or RKO!

It doesn't sound any scratchier to me than Free as a Bird or Real Love or many other songs onj the Lennon Anthology. Someone did their own mix of it as Now and Then. Not bad at all.

It sounds like the recording was really scratchy, perhaps making it too difficult to salvage for use in the Anthology.

I Don't Want To Lose You is actually a very very good song!! Why didn't Yucko put it on the Lennon Anthology??? Just think how great it would have sounded if recorded with I Am the Walrus style cellos!!!
