My tribute to archetypal tango. A sad story of a tender feeling in/on an adverse time/tempo. You can also dance to it, according to Discepolo.

A la gran muñeca (lit. to the big doll) is a famous tango composed in 1920 by Jesus Ventura on lyrics by Miguel Osses.

Here, it is interpreted by violonist-conductor Florindo Sassone and his big orquestra típica, most probably in the 50´s. Stylistically speaking Sassone is a descendant of Carlos De Sarli.

My photos (except one) were taken in the Confitería Ideal, Corrientes y Suipacha in Buenos Aires, founded in 1912 and still a living home for tango and its lovers.

My best wishes to the unknown couple of tangueros (or milongueros).

Enjoy.
