Pierrcing a childs ears is not only a cultural thing, but putting real gold there supplements a baby with minerals through the skin. Mine were done after I was born. This has been done for generations. Trust me when I say the old adage "no baby comes with an obstruction manual". I'm glad mine were done then so just like when a boy gets circumcised, the baby forgets the discomfort.

@wired14 ....Yeah and 64% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Idiot. That baby looks just about old enough to walk and it's not like she just went ahead and took 6 giant steps. It looked just like a first try. Furthermore, in this day and age we have every opportunity to catch our children's firsts on tape. They probably taped her for a looong time before she took those couple of steps and they were kind enough to share just the best couple of minutes with the world. Thank you emily!!
