Forty days on one meal! Symbolic of the power of God's provision, whether it was the food or the Spirit of God. I'm inclined to say it was in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen to that brother in Christ. We need the "Spiritual Food" that comes by the Holy Spirit in revealing to us truth and knowledge of God our Father. And that we may use this to glorify God!

Inspiring teaching Brother; I've always felt funny while trying to participate in communion in the "churches" i've attended. It's clear to me now how crucial and practical truths from Jesus have been reduced to a religeous ritual, even among "emerging" churchs and in home groups this tradition is not fully understood. I love the Elijah example; that was a new insight for me Brother!

The way we "home church" is simple. We have no "man made" creeds and rituals outside of God's Word. We just dedicate the same day every week to pray for understanding from the Father and to read God's word. Then ACT on the instruction therein. We are not perfect, but we fight the fight to do what the WORD says. Praise our Father and the Lord Jesus for His promise of the Holy Spirit as our truthful guide! Beware the flesh...

Mark, I had a friend in Florida who was a serious Christian who ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit. He fasted 40 days. He said he lost all desire for food, but the Lord told him he had to start eating again or his body would die. I'll never forget that brother. I miss Christian like that...
