it has repetitive plots, gameplay, and story with few updates which is a good and bad thing.

With sonic, every game is different with new characters, semi-different stories, and pretty same old gameplay, so i would have to say they're both equal with their pros and cons

I knew I was going to get these if I brought up ANY kind of Mario career-track comparison) but I'm really surprised at the volume of them. Are people really still THIS invested in the Mario/Sonic rivalry? I mean, it's been a decade since they had games exclusive to competing machines and longer than that since the SNES/Genesis dustup... might be time to move on, is all I'm sayin ;)

honestly i respect your opinion and i do think you hit the mark on sonic's key problems in the first part and the second had some good points too i'm just puting my 2 cents . Personally the sonic/mario rivarly doesn't bother me, its just the reasons people are giving for their reasons why the think one is better than the other

I'm with the game maniac on this one. I actually liked Shadow (and hate Silver, but my girlfriend thinks he's cool, can't really understand that) but I don't like Wario. Also, ST is aiming at the younger audience, not the old school gamers. Isn't that what moviebob was talking about at one point? Appealing to the younger kids? Kinds around here LOVE sonic X but don't like the old one because he only saves animals. :-| So while us fans miss the old sonic, the kids love the new one.

You cannot judge Shadow or any Sonic characters that way.

In Sonic the Hedgehog games, their personalities are entirely different. Sonic in Sonic 06 isn't the same one from Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic in Unleashed isn't the same from Sonic Adventure.

As for Shadow, Knuckles, and Robotnik. Their personalities and actions contradict each other from game to game.

Knuckles is no longer the "I'm not your buddy" type. Sometimes he's angry, other times he's a comedian.

Oh and Wario does not rely soley on Warioware game. I mean, Wario Land 4 had some of the best platforming experience of my life. Anyway I can't wait for your video response for part 2 I enjoyed your viedo nontheless

Pretty silly if you ask me. You would say, "Well Wario is way way sillier!", well yah because he was made that way on purpose! Though Shadow and Wario both act as the main characters antithesis, Wario just fits in in the universe hes in. I mean the Mario universe is a silly world with silly creatures and Wario is a silly greedy fat farting villain. Wario just fits in. While Shadow, his character alone, seems to already not work. Making him overall not that likeable.

About the Shadow Wario arguement. Shadowe is a black colored Sonic with an emofied attitude. I mean yes he acts badass, but I can't help but think, "This guy is a freaking hedgehog with fancy shoes who acts badass and overly serious." Hmmmm.... nope doesnt work. I mean hes like Sephiroth in a hedgehog costume.

making a sonic title out of them wether they may be an epic story or a kiddy story. All the confusion in story plus the US Japan Sonic backstory confusion makes Sonic a puzzle not worth figuring out thus we just go "meh" and not bother to understand Sonic at all.

Sonic on the other hand though has a deeper story as compared to Mario tends to be unecessarilly deep. I mean Sonic is a Blue Hedgehog who happens to run fast. Why is he in a King Arthur story? I mean though the story in Sonic games varies a lot, Sonic's style is not always inserted in the appropriate plot lines. Sonic seems like he is in a sort of identity crisis these days not knowing which story he will fit in to.

Oh and lets not forget that its not always about saving Princess Peach from an Evil Bowser. In Mario RPG games, Bowser and Mario already joined forces and princess peach instead of being the usual damsel in distress is actually fighting along mario this time in the front lines with a freaking parasol.

Secondly, what makes Mario great even with the lack of plot is the fact that Nintendo kept it plain and simple. The start will usually be that princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser and the end would usually be Mario rescuing the princess. But how he goes off to save the princess focuses entirely on gameplay and level design which mario games are famous for.

First of all, I don't think MovieBob talked shit about sonic. I mean talking shit about something is done for the sake of talking shit about something. What MovieBob did was state the problems Sonic has that has caused his downfall. I mean Sonic being crappy these days is fact and talking about the reasons why it sucks now is not talking shit about the franchise at all. Infact, knowing what makes sonic suck is the first step to help Sonic rise up to greatness once again.
