What is your website?? Bill Miller...( 13221L@mchsi.com e-mail) please send, I am very interested in buying property down there.

do you have any animals? Would you say that its family friendly? How far are your neighbors from you? Do you treat your water before use?
-
Does the sub-soil there have enough clay in it for cob, or did you have to have the soil brought in? I want to build a small house down there out of cob or papercrete, I have property in Terlingua Ranch.

Hi, loved your tour, I am moving to Alpine this summer with intentions of purchasing land North of Turlingua. Have done calculations about solar power, backup gen, well and septic tank. Currently thinking of building earth sheltered home and getting totally off the grid. Lived in Austin most of my life love Mexico been there hundreds of times. Plan to visit in June so maybe I will stop buy and say hello. We could be neighbors soon.....Bill 13221L@mchsi.com

I don't have any pets, but there are animals around - mostly rabbits and birds, although it is sparse around here this year with the extreme drought. I think it is a family friendly town, but I have to admit, the school doesn't have a good reputation. I have neighbors within half a mile, as the crow flies. I use a tap filter on my drinking water.

I have almost all clay in my soil, and have to add sand. I think that is most typical for folks out here, but I do have some friends that live not too far from here that have the opposite (all sand, no clay).

does it rain alot there? Ive been thinking of moving one day to terlingua texas?

@lestat34208 Well, I just got back from a trip to Ireland, so comparatively speaking, no, it doesn't rain much here. We get a fair number of afternoon thunderstorms in the summer, especially late summer, but it's quite dry most of the rest of the year.
