  • It is a SKL 6 NVD 48-2 U engine. SKL = Schwermaschinenbau Karl Liebknecht, Magdeburg, DDR. Power: 990 bhp @ 428 rpm. Most engines were rated at 930 bhp @ 400 rpm or sometimes 870 bhp @ 375 rpm. After the Berlin-Wall fell SKL was taken over by MTU, and Tognum. The plant is still producing ship and generator angines, however these days high-reving MTU engines...

    That ware i am working ( in Holland lock lith one the river Maas ),the most ships have a bow thruster,what engine it is,i dont kwow.

    Must be hard to manouvre such a long boat, especially when u have to turn away from the dock without bow thrusters. Good video.
