Eastern Washington University Director of Percussion Studies Michael Waldrop, D.M.A. performed "Tangents" by James Campbell on January 13th, 2010 in the EWU Music Building Recital Hall.

Tangents is a unique work for five solo timpani, utilizing an added remote hi-hat to add an extra rhythmic voice and timbre. Campbell employs many latin and jazz influences in this virtuosic work for solo timpani. Campbell is the professor of percussion at the University of Kentucky.
