FIRE is pleased to announce the winners of its Freedom on Campus student video contest. American college and university students were invited to submit short videos documenting school policies or practices that stifle their freedoms on campus, with the opportunity to win scholarships and other prizes. A grand prize of $5,000 and an invitation to the Campus Freedom Networks summer conference went to a group of students from Ohio University (OU) for their video, Thats What She Said. Robert Nyerges, Dan Ray, Evan Mitchell, and Aaron Karp produced and filmed a documentary on OUs sexual harassment policy, describing how the policy likely violates the First Amendment.
Sexual harassment policies at work and in school have gotten out of control. And the idiots running both places have kowtowed SO MUCH to this nonsense! Call me old-fashioned, but sexual harassment only means saying lewd, unwanted stuff to someone repeatedly, gazing at them uncomfortably, or groping them. Those are the 3 main areas of REAL sexual harassment. Any others are free speech and SHOULD NOT be prosecuted. People shouldn't hide behind such liberal interpretations of the law.
