This video was shot at Hangtown 2010 during the memorial service held there for Danny "Magoo" Chandler. It is done with a hand held camera, by Ken Vanderhoof a Nor-Cal Expert Vintage Motocross racer #7X. Roger DeCoster and Brad Lackey both speak of Danny and tell stories, from their perspectives, as fellow competitor, in Brad's case and Team Manager under Roger.

  • Grew Crew, Nothing was cut, this was all the footage I recieved from the event. There wasn't a News Crew from a National TV station there and a Program Director cut something out. A friend of mine took this footage with a Digital still camera on motion mode. I'm sorry your favorite part was not in the video, but I wasn't there and this was all I recieved.

  • I had the thrill of seeing magoo win all 4 motos of the motocross and trophy des nations in person in 1982.Ialso got the jersey he wore in the first moto.It was a thrill i will never forgetHe was the best in the world for those two weeks and nobody can argue that.

  • so how many times have you ever heard a world champ like de coster telling someone to slow down. magoo was a one and only. RIP, Magoo.

  • Magoo was the pioneer of the double jump. The Pastrana of his day. The story Lackey told of the Superbikers race was very funny- classic bench racing. Got to see Danny race at the Mammoth Mountain Motocross. Just for fun and money. he was sooooooo faaaast.

  • OMG.....never heard that Danny passed away.... Very Sad Day. Thank you for sharing this video....

  • thank you so much for this video.

  • Danny was the best. It was amazing to see him racing supercross out there with the big guys. Danny was a local, and the raced the local races. Then, all of a sudden, he made it into the big leagues. It was just incredible to see that happen.

  • Say how come Chris Grewer/ Donny Cantalupie:s interview was cut ????? Well I guess maybe there not world champions... Dammmm because I thought they had alot to contribute.

  • Magoo grew up across the middlefork from me. He was the fastest guy that ever rode a dirtbike. HANDS DOWN !!! R.I.P. Magoo...
