Jimi Hendrix rules! RIP.

What differentiates JIMI frm the rest is his creativity w/ his songs. He's so brave & bold to get off the standard and improvise his own sound w/c makes him the greatest. The IMPROVISATION, man. The way he carries himself on stage was magical. He was so down to earth that his only goal was to be one with the music. That's to jam w/ everyone who'll inspire him to be a part of that. HE STARTED IT ALL.

@MrZr350 no he started out playin machine gun then broke into this then went back to it

@MrZr350 This is the second part of Machine Gun following a lengthy drum solo. It is yet another incarnation of his definitive composition, the point beyond which no creative expression extends. This is the alpha and the omega. JMH unfurls the sacred scrolls of word sound power and we are enlightened because of it. There will one day be spiritual discipline which centers around his music as a manifestation of the source of all creation. JMH never fades and his flame burns ever brighter

@lexluger300 I dont mind your opinion. Everybody has his right to make an opinion. I really dont know how it actually was with Clapton vs. Hendrix or Santana at Woodstock, but as long as I know, he was left-handed, but his strings werent upside down! Albert King used upside down left-handed guitar, Dick Dale uses upside down strings but not Jimi did! Technically guitarists like Malmsteen, Buckethead or Petrucci would kill Jimi... he was a pioneer in some things but lookup Les PAul or Chet Atkins

@lexluger300 But I do respect the other guitarist. I personally think Slash is the closest player to Jimi as far as speed. Oh! I also like and respect Eddie Van Halen, who you forgot to mention.

@dzava Rolling Stone said he was the best!! Every guitarist of his era said they had never heard or seen anything like him. Left handed, playing with his guitar upside down, with his teeth, between his legs, behind his back, and on and on and on.When jimmy went to London and asked the great Eric Clapton to sit in with him, not only did he blow Clapton away on that stage, Clapton actually walked off that stage and was never really heard from again. Santana? Please!! Please watch Woodstock!

@lexluger300 incredible, genius, but not the best. Naming him as the best guitarist is nonsense... because there is no best guitar player of all time. In his days there were other great guitarists too such as Santana, Clapton, Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Tony Iommi, etc. ... each one of the is unique, genius and brilliant!
This man was absolutely incredible!! People have to realize that this was in the 70"s. If anybody out there can name another guitarist that can play like what you're hearing in this video today in 2011, please do so!! Simply the greatest guitar player of all time!! Hands down.

I'm looking at those people in the front row and thinking "Oh man, if I could go back in time that's where I'd go".
Hendrix is the one and only for all time!
