  • Hi; thanks for commenting. The ruler is just as you say, to show how to check for flat and that the blank is not flat in either direction. :) I have the scraper set deep and filed rough to remove a lot of material.

  • I'm not sure what you are showing with the ruler. The piece is concave in both directions. You also have to much of a hook on the blade. Try the 80 with no hook at all and get a feel for it. Then add a little hook with very little pressure from the burnisher. You should not have to push that hard with it. My 80 makes full transparent shavings with very little effort.
