  • And here's a big difference-there's no Canadian national anthem after it!

  • Yes, they only started to run that in the late 80s.

  • remember wneq?? i think it was channel 23?

  • This really takes me back, I remember getting up early in the morning during the early 1990s to watch the start-up along with the NOAA Weather Radio simulcast, then AM Weather before getting ready for school (I was a bit of a weather freak back then)

  • They do have a new one, but use it very rarely. since they went HD its now the national anthem accompanied by shots of earth From MIR or a satalite in HD. But its very rare i think ive seen it twice since they went HD and a fall asleep to Wned every night

  • They're heeeeeeeeere

  • Nostalgia is in overdrive right now -- thanks for the flashback

  • Just another way of saying filmed or video taped.

  • Must've been "The Star-Spangled Banner" playing.

  • Hey Kid I know what you mean, for some reason I enjoyed watching TV stations go on and off the air, no reason why. I actually used to watch HBO do their daily tests at around 2:15 every afternoon (remember this was around 1980 to 1981 before they went 24 hours). Always enjoyed their 'good nite' and graphics that would accompany it.

  • i remember being younger and thinking it was so cool to watch tv stations go off air. no idea why but i almost felt as if they were playing it especially for me, as if no one else was watching at that time. i still dont understand what the "portions of today's programming have been mechanically reproduced" part meant. anyone?

  • I don't know if it's the same there but 24/7 programing hasn't improved TV

  • Wow i always use to see this on TV not any more now its 24/7 on air.
