"The Ghost Writer" was an unusual pilot from 1990 that starred Anthony Perkins. It was written by Alan Spencer, the creator of "Sledge Hammer!" when Perkins contacted him about creating a show for the actor. Despite not being picked up for series, the pilot got a favorable response and the live audience taping was memorable. This version features some unaired footage.

  • "Did she die of natural causes?"

"Yes, she fell down those stairs and broke her neck."

    "You call that natural causes?"

"Well of course, if you fall down some stairs and break your neck, naturally it causes you to die."

  • I love how he says "rum" for "room": he was a bit of a blueblood, and even married one.

  • Anthony really proved that he could play comedy as well and not just horror films.

  • This is super, I laughed non stop!

  • Good comedy means NOT telegraphing the jokes or mugging for the camera. The acting here is atrocious; the writing is corny and fails to hit the right notes.

  • this is soo funny! where can i get a copy of this?
