Some of you ricer are ate up an know nothing. I actually went to school an work on my own cars. Rotarys are in many opionins the worst engines ever(airplanes use them). The only reason there good on gas is because theres hardly anything to them there a very simple design, hardly any moving parts. If you have the money an Ls series motor is one of the best. My 93 camaro z28 with an lt1 6 speed achieves 30mpg + on the highway interstate. That being said learn up a little guys

The rx7 is still one of the most unique cars ever made because of its engine, putting in a v8 american muscle style machine in it really kills the concept of an rx7. dont you think? despite its downfalls, the rotary is an extraordinary engine for a 7.

Another thing... the engine doesn't have a lot of torque at take off, it only takes affect at higher RPM.
They're gas and oil thirsty.
But it IS smooth. The rotary doesn't have things slamming up and down so it won't shake as much.
