  • The image really matches the music...

  • So lush and alive!

  • @Parkyurkarkas I remember that the station was KDFC San Francisco. They would sign off at the end of the evening with an orchestral version of this piece. I loved it too, and still do.

  • First time I heard Pastorale was when I was in my teens. It was the end-of-the-broadcast-day music for a Bay Area station. I went crazy until I found out what it was. This isn't that version which I have on an old LP at my parents' house, but it's beautiful nonetheless.

  • It is indeed perfect. I can remember precisely the first time I heard it, it was on a concert program Stravinsky's chamber music by ensemble intercontemporain IRCAM, Paris.

Was it the title, the description of the formation ? I don't know ... I was waiting for "something". As the other pieces were played, I became more and more mesmerized by that title, then came "La Pastorale", Oooohh ! I was certainly not disapointed.

  • I love this piece. It's perfect. The violin and wind ensemble arrangement is my favourite too.
