I think Clay was brave to attempt a version of one of the most perfect songs ever written. Don McLean is an amazing talent. I give Clay credit for putting his own interpretation into this song. It's not in the same caliber as the original, but a respectable cover which shows respect for a truly great artist.

Not a good version, sounds like he's trying to use an R&B or soul style that doesn't work for this song. No real sense of interpretation either.

I doubt any of the audience even knew who Vincent Van Gogh was. I dislike this cover quite a bit
This is so beautiful even though he missed his cue because Nigel Lithgoe decided at the last minute to make the song longer and add a verse without allowing Clay to practice it. Bravo, Clay. Even when you mess up you're the best!!!

he misses lik 3 lines.when he stares down at the ground and then bursts into song you can tell.but it was still a beautiful rendition
