  • Dave iv'e done as per your instructions on this vid but when i apply a wash for a sky say the paper buckles, can't understand what i'm doing wrong.

  • @creamtt

All stretched paper will ripple slightly if using a large wash but nowhere as much as if the paper had not been stretched. As the painting dries, the paper will dry flat with no ripples, if left on the board. Only take the paper of the board when the painting has been finished and dry.

Its important to leave your stretch paper till the following day to dry before attempting painting on it.

  • Dave, what is the best way to remove the sticky tape after it is dry?

  • @Reesfun

Hi, cut round your watercolour to remove it from the board, then for the remaining tape on the board, soak a little water over the tape and after a few mins the tape will simply and easily peal away leaving no tape on the board.

  • this is EXACTLY how i do it and it works.

  • You should watch my presentation on stretching paper. I'll work a lot better for full sheets than what you are doing. MCPOFreeman

  • @davewoolass1 Thankyou Dave for the advice, i'll have a go at this very soon.
