BEWARE visitors and returning SA residents, you can be robbed both inside and outside this airport! Recently my sister had £70 extorted by the female customs 'officer', then threatened if she said anything about it...She felt she could not trust the police to help or follow up, so she paid and left with no money and completely traumatised!

My wallet was stolen from my back pack while going through international departures airport security check in at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport, Please rather have your wallet in your pocket while going through this process.
