GT4 Mission 34 Mercedes At The 'Ring NTSC version

The McLaren Mercedes has to catch the Gullwing at Nurburgring. GT4's most difficult Mission for the NTSC version PS2. The PAL version Mission 34 is much easier to win. I used manual shifting and a Dual Shock Controller. I drove conservatively. I know many people have done it much faster, so I claim no bragging rights. Still, this is a decent instructional video for beginners having problems winning to see sections where you can go faster and lower your overall time. If i could shake your fuckin hand i would man...hell yes...props to you. I've been playing this game and Tourist Trophy for years and just now have came back around to tryin to complete this mission. Apparently im just driving a little sloppy and not apexing correctly. Good job!

I did not mean any criticism - yours is the cleanest run of this mission that I've seen so far.

Last night I was able to pass the 5th place car just as we were entering the carousel.

My troubles start at about 7:40 (of your video), as I often start "pinballing" back and forth. Any tips?

The only tips I have is basically to just keep practicing until you don't have any major problems or you know what to expect at certain sections of the course. Every run to me is slightly different but overall my consistency is good. Since I use a standard controller I have to keep making thumb adjustments that aren't very accurate so I still lose a lot of time in sections that other people using a wheel can nail it each and every time.

I bought the game a few months ago, and I've been practicing this mission for a couple of weeks. I refuse to wallride or grass cut. My times are identical to yours until I reach the carousel. I'm getting better at the technical section, but some of the turns after that are tricky.

The key is just reaching the latter portions of the track so I can gain experience driving them.

I had cheated at first just to pass the Mission, but I was just too lazy too practice to win fairly. There is satisfaction in doing the Mission fairly, but that's up to the individual. We all have different goals. I'm only showing that the Mission is not impossible to beat. It just takes practice. Maybe a little or a lot depending on the skills of the driver. You should be able to beat the Mission in another week or so.

I've been playing this game at least twice a week since it came out 5 years ago, and I STILL can't beat it...Of course, I try to go around corners as fast as the game will allow me, and that tends to lead to flailing around ><

Hi, that is good. My best is 9:05,8xx with USA NTSC version no wallrides no penalty and one accidently cutting.

I would like to post my vids, can you tell me which file converter to use or how to do it in a good quality?
