North Yorkshire Moors Railway - 24th June 2010

On Thursday 24th the NYMR ran their red timetable with at least 4 steam locomotives running and 1 diesel. So since I was on holiday and I not yet taken the chance to ride the railway Thursday 24th June was planned as the day to ride the railway and collect a couple of different shots and for a general look round over the railway.

The locomotives in action during the visit were -

|LMS 5MT 'Black Five' 45428 'Eric Treacy'
|SR V or Schools Class 30926 'Repton'
|S&D 7F 2-8-0 Class 53809
|BR Standard 9f Class 92214
|BR Class 25 'Rat' Diesel Locomotive D7628 'Sybilla' (operating DMU turns)

For the day I was joined with youtuber GWRDec and I thank him for the compnay during the day. The weather was mostly cloudy but cool (thankfully) with the odd sunny spells. The day was mainly focused on riding the railway and filming around the stations.

-92214 starts the attack on the 1 in 49 climb to Goathland (seen from the train)
-53809 arrives into Goathland (seen from the train I was on)
-Class 25 D7628 departs Grosmont
-45428 runs round at Grosmont

-30926 runs to the end of Grosmont platform to prepare for the next Whitby train
-Black 5 45428 runs over the new bridge 30 (Seen from the train)
-53809 arrives into Goathland
-45428 departs Goathland
-D7628 arrives into Goathland
-92214 storms the last few yards of the 1 in 49 climb seen at Goathland
-92214 runs round at Pickering

The whole video is simply brilliant. However, I think my favorite part is the small segment from 00:19 to 00:26, where No. 92214 is standing at the station

Very Nice film. I really like on board footage. it's my favorite and I prefer it to line side. You also took it in the right spot right next to the engine instead of several cars back . The only better place is the footplate. One word of advice though. I find if I film from the drivers side, he see's me and gives me a show. Which makes for a better video. All its ever cost me is a copy of the footage to the crew once in a while. They like to see themselves on camera for the memories !
