well i tink i haf to agree with iori55...singapore was kicked out according to the books that i read. well im a singaporean malay n yes racism does occur everywhere...it cant b avoided, especially if ur the minority... in s'pore its not exactly racism..u cant say tat. its more of like i notice we're banking alot towards the majority race. one example is u see adverts on tv n not a single malay face, n s'pore promotes itself as multi racial...??

I'm sorry to say that I find it difficult to believe your "msian" friends read a "different" textbook cos my msian friends all know that spore was kicked out.but if it is true,then the msians you met were rather ignorant,unfortunately.Speakin­g of history,I don't mean to blindly criticize,I was shocked to know that Spore students study it up to Sec 2 and from then on it's optional.Msian Gov makes it compulsory up to pre-U,they want to make sure we know our roots.

Excluded from malaysian history textbooks? Where did you get that from? I'm Malaysian, I studied history and they said Spore was kicked out of the Malaysian federation and one of the reasons is cos LKY questioned Malay special rights. I don't mind people giving criticisms but for fairness it must have a basis and proof

em, rite, im singaporean chinese for the record, but look at countries around the world. its so rare to find one that is free from racism, n singapore is one of the least. we have equal rights 4 all and not special rights for minorities because that just breeds more problems like in NZ or USA i guess.

n the national language is malay bcos of political reasons doodoohead. oh... n malaysia didn't want us. n they excluded that from the malaysian history textbooks
