  • Very helpful for videos, thanks Deborah.

  • Thank you, Annie! I know a lot of artists have been struggling with this new fangled technology...I sure have!

  • OKAY! I worked! I just needed to get MPEG Streamclip first! Thanks DEB you're the best!

  • YIPPEE and YAY! I'm really glad that this info helped you, DG......there is so much that I don't know---it's staggering. hehehehe

  • I have a flip, and I don't do it often enough to tell you the process from memory, but I know I don't have to convert it. I just open iMovie and "import". Now, I really need to devote some time to learning to edit:-)

  • Lucky you! That's great that your Flip works without the conversion process.

I had to have someone write down the steps for me and just follow them over and over again until I finally got familiar enough with the process to do it without my cheat sheet. I'm a tech retard!!!

Editing is another whole process in itself. I only recently learned how to do time lapse....that took quite a while for me to figure out, but it makes for better videos.

  • That's a relief to hear! I've searched high and low for easy to follow instructions that I can post in our How to Make a Video group on our MixedMediaWorkshops site.

There are lots of artists that are easily intimidated by this video making process, so I'm hoping this will help them.

  • Wow, thanks Deb - I'm going to have to try this - you make it look a lot easier than some of the instructions I've read on the web!!

  • Well, I tried to use Quicktime and it said I need to buy Quicktime pro in order to convert avi files. ? Arrrrgh. I think this was why I just opened iMovie when I downloaded from my camera, because when iMovie wasn't open while I was downloading into iPhoto, iMovie did not know there were any movies downloaded. But now I have a bunch in email and it won't work my way so I tried your way. But I don't have the $30. for Quicktime Pro right now.

  • OH ok, I'll google it. Ha!
