David Sheldon reviews the Variax at Light of DAE

David Sheldon is a well respected sessions and touring guitarist in the Canadian music scene. He is also a consultant at Doyle Audio Engineering, designing guitar monitoring systems. In this video David reviews the virtues (we didn't find any draw backs) of the Line 6 Variax Guitar. What's not said by David is he didn't want to give it back. I heard you can program tunings into it. Do you actually have to tune it? Do you have to use special strings? And why are the tuners even there?

I was very surprised as to how much it really sounds like the guitar selected. It doesn't have all those pick ups. It takes the notes and digitally simulates the sound.

Now the newest version of this guitar can even do more.

In the near future, I'm sure they will have a Canadian version that can dispense Beer.

if you had removed the gain for the cleaner sounds it would give us a better idea of the sounds.
