stop comparing her to Bjork, kids. she is her own unique artist, and she is magnificent.

well...i don't even know who cheryl is. cheryl what?
but i know joanna newsom very well, and i don't really get the comparision, i think newsom and cocorosie both came out about the same time, no?
like someone else already said..just name it joanna newsom
but besides that, this is a nice video .

wait, so this is just a video of joanna newsom? not a collaboration with cocorosie bjork and cheryl? because thats what i thought this was, and was kind of excited to see that

@QberryZinc09 . ..I would compare them in the realm of Great Magical Voices. <3
-
@loopy77 . .....Joanna newsom might pre-date CoCo RoSiE,, at least I was aware of her slightly before CoCoRoSiE.. .... <3 them all.

Don't ever say that Joanna's voice sounds like a child. THAT IS BULLSHIT.
and I'm sorry, Bjork and CocoRosie along with Joanna are all different. They are only related because how fantastically odd artists they all are.

I'm not saying that Bjork isn't totally awesome, or Cocorosie. I like all of them, I just think that zorkiglass isn't giving Joanna Newsom enough credit for being her own person and musician (and a rather fantastic one).

I believe it was John Lennon who said "All musicians are ripping somebody off."
I mean, even elvis who was the "original king of rock and roll" was totally ripping off old blues musicians. One of his biggest hits (Hound Dog) was a Big Momma Thornton cover. I think it would be an honor to be compared to Bjork. That's a pretty huge honor.

no, dude. stop comparing them, it ruins it.
Hey, I just posted this video because Coco and Cheryl combined create Joanna. All are great in their own respect. Cheryl is a harp player for the Sarasota Symphony.

Okay, i've listened to this a few times:
I can indeed see bits of her vocalizations as Bjork-y/CocoRosie-ish, and the variability in melody as Bjork-y/CocoRosie-ish...it's a beautiful blend.
