that reminds me of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and Russia Ice Hockey. Noone went to work when those games were played,also in the schools the teachers brought in TVs to watch the games.

Americans are blessed really if they take their head out of their behinds and actualyl try and enjoy themselves. You have south america onm your doorstep, your neighbour.
They play the Copa america, one of the biggest and most entertaining football tournaments on earth.
Brazil, argentina, etc.. carnival atmosphere, tens of millions watching, tens of thousands at the games.
Why attack it if your american? forget that, join in and have fun.

funny because we hate futboll because its sooooooooo boring (well at least to watch) just imagine basketball but they only score a couple times and just stand at mid cort and just pass the ball around.

That's football fever. It'll happen over here for the Euro's too this year....well not in England...or anywhere in the U.K because none of us qualified. :x
But we'll still watch it, it's a great tournament, if they have coverage of Euro 2008 in the states then you should check it out.

Football is more exciting than american [steroid] sports, I guess that's why people watch football at work. However the world cup final in the USA got higher viewing figures than the world series, so clearly americans are loving football aswell.
