Metroid Prime US Commercial

This is the famous US Metroid Prime commercial featuring a live actor and some great special effects that sync perfectly with the first-person action. The commercial was shot by Alex Proyas (The Crow, Dark City) in Sydney, Australia, supposedly in the same location where scenes from The Matrix had been shot. If you were lucky, you might have seen this one in the movie theater. Brought to you by the Metroid Database with special thanks to Metroid Recon.

@scyther206 I know right? Same with resident evil 4 actually. People said prime would suck with the first person view, people said zelda ww would suck because of its cartoony graphics, and people said re4 would blow because of its view. All 3 ended up being amazing. Now I dont judge games at all unless ive played them.

When you relly watch this commercial, you just gotta sit back in awe. This is badass! Music was tight and it came out before all those live action Halo ODST or Reach commercials. Hell, maybe Bungie took one out of Nintendo's book for this one, Retro really made Metroid badass. Here's to hoping Retro Studios next game is a Metroid side-scroller, and not a sequel to Metroid: Other M (ugh...). E3 can't come soon enough, Retro did say that thier next game would be one "everyone wants us to do"...

No, 4 is what killed what RE was. It had crap atmosphere, turned Leon into an ass, fed you ammo, got rid of backtracking and interlocking areas, had the single worst plot of the entire series, was the least relevant of the main games, and was just one slap-in-the-face after another. It doesn't matter how many awards or anything it won. Both it and 5 are fun as hell. But as RE game they suck ass.

um...yes a new Metroid Prime would have to be about Phazon. That's what the Prime series' story was about. Prime and Phazon. Without Phazon Prime CAN NOT exist. They just threw that ship in there at the end for a plothole if Nintendo ever decides to pick it back up in the future.

@edward18517 Well a new Metroid Prime game wouldn't necessarily have to be about Phazon. SPOILER: remember the ship that follows Samus at the end of Prime 3? I would love to see what happens next. Maybe the next game would start with that ship following Samus to some planet and then shooting her down and her ship is destroyed and she needs to figure a way off the planet? Ya never know. I think Retro could do something awesome with Metroid Prime 4.

@cannotbebothered100 i couldnt agree more.... alot of people loved it... i couldnt even finish it, way to many small mistakes that took away from the game... the look, design, inability to choose different weapons, that look of the pirates was changed from their bad ass level from Prime.... it just didnt feel right!

the amazing part is the CGI isn't much better than the in game graphics

Thumbs up if you wish this project still haven't been cancled (In matter in fact, it was cancled, but then a person decided to take it up again, it is yet unsure wether it's cancled or not.

Retro said they aren't working on Metroid for a long time if ever again. Also, why would there be another Prime if Prime and Phazon were wiped out at the end of 3?
