From http://www.nrdcactionfund.org - The Bush Administration wants to let oil companies destroy the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for the sake of one penny per gallon at the pump. Watch Robert Redford's video about America's greatest birthing ground for wolves, caribou and polar bears. Then, speak out in defense of the Arctic Refuge by going to http://www.nrdcactionfund.org and sending a message to your two U.S. senators.

  • After almost seven years of being an NRDC member, I'm so glad that they're starting to use sites like this to reach my generation.

  • It's great to see the positive comments here, especially about using YouTube. Stay tuned -- in the coming months you'll see NRDC doing this kind of thing much more often.

  • EVERYONE has the right to speak up for what they believe it, its one of our rights as Americans.. and if people with celebrity status can use it to get messages out to the multitude, then so be it.. Who are any of you to decide who can and cannot use whatever power they have to save this planet or make political stands???? Are you out there fighting the fight as this man has been doing for over 30 odd years??? Educating yourself to the reality of environmentalism???

  • The greatness of a species can NOT be measured merely by their technological advancement in altering the environment to be favorable only to their needs...

The greatness of a species is when they have evolved enough to gain the fortitude and respect towards other entities; therein, fostering and protecting them to flourish...

Thank you for your concern towards our environment and wilderness! We certainly need more people like you with your fortitude and intellect!

  • Haha! There are not any sheep in ANWR! HAHAHHA! There are no mountains! This video is all bullshit. If you believe this propoganda you are following a fantasy. Complete load of crap. Get on Alaska Airlines, fly over, (burn some hydrocarbons) and look for yourself. ANWR is flat tundra.

  • @741362 With the passage of time I can only laugh like hell about this sentiment. Obama is the biggest single recipient of BP money in the last election--and now with the gulf spill he is frozen with indecision--this jerk cares alright, only for himself and his power grab. Obama is the weakest president in US history, and his incompetence in the oval office is obvious to all who care to take a look. I only hope we can survive him.

  • @falcoperegrinus82 This is unbridled Leftwing environmental BS. It is the environmentalists who require offshore drilling miles out in the ocean instead of safe, economical, and yes ecological oil extraction on dry land. What would turn your head around is to actually visit ANWR, and you would get off your high horse. It is easily the most desolate place on the planet, good for nothing BUT oil extraction. And it would be ecologically sound--but the eggheads can't tolerate this.

  • I give this video... two thumbs up!!!!

We need to be good to the earth, as anyone can see this is a crime of greed. When it is gone it is gone, no more beautiful last unspoiled places. Once the money machine enters, it turns loose and keeps taking. This is so important. Do you really want a land of waste and no wildlife? The song America The Beautiful. My gosh. Sea to sea, purple mountains. Be kind to wildlife and the earth, nothing can buy that. Pick up your cameras. !!! Yeah...

  • What nonsense! So biased and emotion based and deliberately deceiving. Drilling in ANWR is limited to 2000 acres (3.1 sq. miles) within the 10-02 Area only. The 10-02 is about 8% of ANWR's total area. 2000 acres is less than .01% of ANWR's total area. Like thats going to destroy the refuge! Right sure. Reford instead supports millions of solar panels and wind mills to chop up birds and cover our "pristine" desert. I'll bet a few greenies have problems with that too! NIMBY Hypocrites!

  • Mr.Redford, thank you for taking your part !

  • A quick lesson,

What is it called when you take public funds and land and give it to rich people?

    Its NOT socialism!

    Its FEUDALISM!!!

  • You've made not one concrete statement in your comment. It's nothig but empty ad-hominem attacks typical of people like you. Tell me how you figure drilling in our last unspoiled wilderness areas is going to help us. We all know ANWR will not amount to a drop in the bucket. If we allow drilling there, it will be a very slipery slope toward envoromnental devastation. Saying we can drill our way out of our oil addiction is like saying you can dig yourself out of an ocean.

  • obama is dick cheneys 8th cousin - the ruling elite bloodline stuff is not conspiracy nonsense and the only time things are gonna get better is when these arseholes are all OUT - cant happen until everyone knows whats going on = alex jones aint a fool he knows...
