The Republicans objected because the Democrats were offering long worded "revisions and extensions" of their remarks to kill the debate time so that the American people wouldn't know about the bill.

Well Marco,
I am 2 years younger than you.
I dropped out of highschool , and have been working ever since.
I have two beautiful children a house and both my cars are paid for. (the oldest car is a 2006) I do not claim to be the smartest guy in the room but I do have common sense.
and the government increasing spending while in debt makes NO sense.
please tell me how I can increase my spending and not get further into debt.
Im waiting TEACHER

@ttam72: No one has ever found that quote in Jefferson's writings. It is first attributed to him in 1986. What he did say was, "To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it."

@ttam72 - the 31 million still have to pay for their insurance. This isn't a government handout. PLEASE READ THE LEGISLATION!!! I know that there's a lot of misinformation out there about what's in this bill, 'death panels' being one of the most ridiculous things, but please know what's being discussed before opposing it so vehemently.

Death panels ARE in the plan so you better read the plan before you open you mouth.

There are no 'death panels', there are no government give-aways in the legislation, and illegal immigrants are not covered; three incredible lies easily dismissed if only the people who believe these things would bother to read. We've been debating the legislation in my class for the past week. Not the crap that's been floated by Palin and Beck, but the ACTUAL legislation that has come from the Senate. You're done with me because you refuse to read the bill for fear of admitting you're wrong.

OK tell me why I should be for this bill?
No government give-aways are you high?
to pay for this they will tax Insurance companies, witch will cause them to raise premiums that I will have to pay or my work will have to pay. then my work might just cancel the insurance then I would be forced to go on the public option . And I don't want crappy Government heathcare . Maybe you want heath care as good as the post office but I don't.

No, they're not taxing health insurance companies. What they are doing is providing a health care plan where you will not be excluded because of pre-existing conditions, will not have an upper limit on legitimate health care expenses, and will not have to fight for coverage of basic care needs.
