An atrocity. The worst imaginable version of what was intended to be Richard Williams' masterpiece.

For the real version, see The Thief and the Cobbler Recobbled Cut.

Even Fred Calvert's butchery, known here as The Princess and the Cobbler, doesn't approach the awfulness of this mess, created by Miramax to essentially mock the film and make it seem like a direct-to-video Aladdin copy.

As you should know by now, The Thief and the Cobbler came first by several decades.

  • This is the version I grew up watching, and I loved it. But now after finding out the truth about it, and watching the Uncobbled Cut, I have to agree that it is much better. I like that Tack is mute in the real version as well. :D

  • you know, this was the version I remember from my childhood and I dont think its that bad

  • y does the nanny have big, pale man arms?

  • I like the fact that both the thief and the cobbler do not speak during the original movie. Having to listen to all of this talking makes me think that I'm going to grow tired of watching this version fast.

  • @IJustCanOK I loved his deeper voice, it's supposed to be a shock, even for him.. :)

  • @359339 It is ironic that the Yum Yum from the '60s was more liberated than the '90s Yum Yum. ;)

  • @IJustCanOK I think having Sean Connery (yes, that was THE Sean Connery) say those three lines was meant to be out-of-place for his character, like a joke.

  • @359339 I think her whole "I am more than this" thing was only included for the sole purpose of the people who took this from Richard White trying to explain why Yum Yum goes into the desert instead of his guards in the first place (the Recobbled Cut admittedly retains some of the footage from the Miramax cuts).

  • But Princess Yum Yum was so badass, what's with all this whining about not doing things? I watched the recobbled cut first and I just assumed she always did cool stuff.

  • wow look at the theif checkin out those balls
