The key to an 8-pack is proper fuelling, intense cardio and abdominal work (trunk flexion, hip flexion) and tons of core training. It is rather simple but often over-complexified.
In this video, I demonstrate 3 exercises you can play with in your quest to sculpt your abs.

First exercise is a modified abs wheel. This is an alternative for those of you who are perhaps strapped with cash but have a cart at home. It works just as similar to the abs wheel. Just be careful of your fingers trapped underneath the rollers.

The second exercise is a modified sliding push up. You can try this out on a rowing machine in the gym. Or simply use cardboards or a basketball (see my previous core training and push up videos).
These are great for developing strength in symmetry and proportions.

The third exercise is probably the hardest of all.
