Happy Nowruz from Congressman Honda

I recently introduced legislation to honor Nowruz, a holiday which marks the traditional Iranian New Year and celebrates the arrival of spring. The resolution recognizes the cultural and historical significance of Nowruz, expresses appreciation to Iranian Americans for their contributions to society and wishes Iranian Americans and the people of Iran a prosperous new year.

That is a genuinely nice gesture and is truly appreciated by Iranians and peoples of Iranic origins. It would be nice if the congressman could introduce a resolution calling for a halt in the ongoing US military build up around Iran. That would certainly promote the understanding between the two nations.
