Georgetown and Houston, the losing teams in the last two NCAA title games, face off for the 1984 title. The Hoyas, led by Patrick Ewing, beat the Cougers and last year's MVP Akeem Olajuwon 84-75. Although Ewing had a modest ten points and nine rebounds in the game, he was named tournament MVP for his ability to contain Olajuwon.

Georgetown would have defended their championship if Graham was on that 85 team.
If you were old enough to remember, the Ewing-led Georgetown teams were awesome. At season's end and going into the 1985 tournament, they were as close to invincible as you're going to see a team in college basketball. Villanova shot almost 80 percent and barely won.
Taking nothing away from Villanova's win, but if there had been a shot clock in that game, they surely would have lost. I will never forget that.
I remember that Georgetown team in 1984-85! I was only 9 years old, but my older brother was a huge fan of that team and so was I.
I agree that if Graham was there, G-Town would of won that year and might of had a chance to go undefeated. However, I do remember watching the 1st meeting between G-Town & Nova in the Specturm in Jan/85 & it was a close game and went to O/T.
Coach Thompson said that when they faced Nova again in the finals, the intimidation factor that G-town had wasn't there
