Attention treasure hunters: Dunn Bros. coffee shop in the Smith-Douglas-More House and the City of Eden Prairie need your help finding Sheldon Smith's lost wrench.
The shop has announced a treasure hunt similar to the Medallion Hunt held each winter in St. Paul.
Clues to the location of Smith's lost wrench will be posted each day at Dunn Bros. at 4 p.m., beginning February 1 and ending Feb. 7. Each day's clue will reference Eden Prairie history and the previous days' clues, which will be posted on the shops website.
The person who finds the lost wrench will receive a $150 gift card to Dunn Bros. In addition, there will be 25 Dunn Bros. gift cards hidden throughout city parks that can be redeemed for a free drink.
Treasure hunters are expected to follow all geocaching guidelines in Eden Prairie parks.
"The Dispute" opens tonight
Looking for something to do tonight? You could go check out "The Dispute," a one-act play opening tonight at 7:30 at the high school's Performing Arts Center.
The Play is advertised as a cautionary tale about the danger and intrigue of seduction that asks the question, "who is more unfaithful in love, men or women?"
The play was written by a man so French I won't even try to pronounce his name.
"The dispute," is showing tonight through Saturday night.
District Jazz Festival tonight
If infidelity and seduction aren't really your thing, you could check out the District Jazz Festival tonight, also at the high school in the main commons at 7 p.m.
The Jazz bands from Oak Point, Central Middle School and the high School will perform, and dancing will be highly encouraged, in keeping with this year's theme, "Dancing and Desserts." As you might have guessed, there will also be desserts.
The event is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $4 for students. Band students get in free.
The band will collect unwanted cell phones, digital cameras and inkjet cartridges to recycle as part of an ongoing fundraiser.
Now let's check the Weather Underground forecast.
That's all for today's broadcast. Check back in tomorrow. Until then, I'm Chris Olwell for Sun Newspapers.
