vast majority? I've been around catholics a LOT. And I'll estimate about 25 of the 1000 kids at my school are "fucked in the head" we offer daily mass before school and only about 5 students go. we aren't all jesus freaks. and in theology class there is usually a healthy amount of argument and self thinking. my school is known as pasty central as well among public schools and we are hte only catholic high school in Lincoln.

Okay, I am a Catholic and I WILL ANSWER your questions.Have you ever heard of a thing called meditation? Praying is similar. It is putting yourself in a state of mind so that you can hear the voice of God and pray, as the prayer says, "for sinners" or dickheads like you. Also, yes, priests and bishops and other people have turned out to be sick rapists. Being a catholic doesn't make you holy. There are sick people in every faith, that is the reality of being a human. You aren't funny.

God lets us pray however we want but we repeat the same prayers because it is tradition and we choose to do so. Also, written prayers tend to be able to be applied to many things, which is why they are prayed so often.

from the beginning, people have been known to kill young if they do not look strong enough. this was in the bible as well.sure, "natural disaster" isnt the best way to describe it, but I wrote that in a hurry and wasnt feeling like making a better analogy. and the countries you listed are huge when it comes to abortion, especially china. and stating myself as a catholic student is relevant because people always think we are brainwashed. there are few of those that make us look bad!

When it all gets down to the bare metal religion is nothing but superstition that has broad acceptance in society. Faith isn't reasonable and believers have faith, not reason. The more radical the belief the less reason and the more reason the less radical the beliefs.
