  • On this date in 1964 {Feb. 15th} "Glad All Over" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it would peak at #6 and spent 14 weeks in the Top 100

    Ranked No. 24 on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1964 chart

    This was the group's debut on the U.S. charts; they had 24 records make the Top 100, 8 make the Top 10, and one No. 1 {"Over and Over"}

    Reached #1 on the U.K. Singles chart, #1 in Ireland, #3 in Australia, #2 in Canada, and #4 in the Netherlands...

  • the drums are live too. you're high. why would they go the trouble of singing, yet faking the drums with someone live off stage? it's rare that's it's actually live, but it is live. bbc4 posts are just that, posts.

  • Back in the late 1960's my band was the opening act for Dave Clark Five at the Boston Gardens.I am a drummer and Dave was playing his drums that night, and let me add that they where all gentlemen and a definite class act.

  • The vocal is live ! Look at Daves sticks at :50 to :59 and around 2:06 ! He hits nothing.The live drum hits are off stage by another drummer just like in the Bits and Pieces video

    from the next Sullivan show. Check the post from BBC4sounds. There is NO live video

    of the DC5 to be seen anywhere ! They did make GREAT records !

  • Drums out of tune,now you know why they don't play "live" on T.V.

  • love this hunky band--they were so happy looking in their music making then!!

  • Rare Live take. People have to remember this is 1964 and they could not do quality sound on the spot like today. Sounds raw but, that was the beauty of Rock and Roll which is what the Dave Clark 5 was as a band. This aired in March of 1964 one month after the Beatles played on Ed Sullivan. The Dave Clark 5 were already in the USA when the Beatles arrived. Dave Clark didn't know who Sullivan was He turned him down 1 time before they played.

  • Mike Smith

  • Seems to be all live. At one time I thought this had some pre-recorded sound with live vocals. But as I listen further, it is apparent that it is all live. Pretty full sound for live. So a good job by the group.

  • @huskyjerk An usher heard it was a Christmas present and took me back stage.
