Deadlands (Tristania) vocal cover

PLEASE, READ...

This is, by far, the most difficult cover I've ever done and completed.

I could say it was easy as pie doing it, but I shall be honest as usual and tell how it was...

When I first listened to this song, longer than a year and a half ago (when the cd came out), I didn't even have the proper "kind" of voice to sing it (I couldn't practically sing in high notes lyrically, adding vibrato and so, although I was starting with low ones)...a little time later, I started practising and got to do it, but with huge, massive effort....until I learnt how to use the diaphragm better and well, today it's been the day when I finally felt inspired to do the ultimate version of it, with some additional voices included (I had some oterh pretty good version from half a year ago or so, but this is the best one).

So yes, I've sweated a lot to do this but I'm glad I did, cause it helped my voice growing a lot, getting new skills if I can call them that way as I've actually got no idea about singing lirically...

And, to finish, I'll say this is dedicated to VIBEKE STENE, the angel of music that has inspired and helped me SO MUCH into singing. All to her, all that effort to Vibeke, for all she's giving to me since when I first listened to her in this same song, Deadlands... :)

@EndTheShattering: I have no idea either. Anyhow, I didn't have my vibrato nor singing technique totally developed back then (still have a looong way to go, but time has passed and I like to believe I got better), but it was no false vibrato, no matter what. Haha. :)

@danydragonfly: What do you exactly mean by "false vibrato"? I am curious on that. Anyway, I have started singing classes and have learnt to produce my voice in the right way now...

Hi there!! I also sing this song, (unfortunately cant upload it)..I like your voice color!! But i've noticed your air is not working so good, you have to send it down (to your low back ) beacuse you dont support the part :so please stop preteanding years ive spent bla bla because of the air.. also Ive heard kind of tension in your jaw, you need to relax it more. Its just some advices.You should take singing classes to be perfect, you can be a very good singer, you have the voice, now train it!

@tefalovett: I think you are very right. In fact, I started taking singing lessons some weeks ago (I can count 6 lessons so far) and those are the main points my teacher pointed out as mistakes when I started. Anyway, this song was recorded by me over a year ago, and now I can manage my voice somewhat better. :)

But thank you, because it is good to hear where I fail in a certain song from someone speaking with so much reason! :)

La verdad es que suelo escuchar los covers vocales que suben de tristania. En este caso, he repetido este video más de 3 veces seguidas. Tienes una voz preciosa, la armonía que haces a 2 voces en la segunda estrofa me encanta. Saludos
