Good piont Blutius,_ here is the meaning , The Phrase Flood is a common hebrew phraseology for the idea that "you will not be able to stop it" Like a "flood" or holding back the tide.. It is used in revelations' also. don't be offended, not many protestant christian understand the hebrew connotations. But the idea is that the event will be unstoppable

don't be ignorant blutius, do some research before posting something like that. Here's another translation.. "The end will come like a flood." (NIV). Not an actual flood with water.

It's funny how biblical scholars can spend hours talking about certain verses that they feel they have all knowledge of, and then gloss over other important verses: "....and the end thereof shall be with a flood". it seems pretty clear - a flood - but there was no flood when Jerusalem was destroyed. hmm

also, Daniel never talked about "an interval". i think biblical scholars have inserted that out of necessity because the numbers don't really work. hmm
