Richard Skaggs, KY Conservation Officer: " We did find that people were buying and selling a lot of inherently dangerous wildlife."] State and wildlife officials confiscated more than one hundred poisonous snakes in Kentucky Thursday. That's after a two-year undercover investigation into an illegal reptile trading business. [Notes:SOT Lt. Richard Skaggs, KY Conservation Officer: "One individual had the snakes locked up in the bedroom, and his father and the two little children in the house didn't know that they were there."]Officials arrested 10 people ... Copperheads were going for 50 dollars and cobras for four hundred dollars. [Notes:SOT Lt. Richard Skaggs, KY Conservation Officer: "We are going to crack down on buying and selling of wildlife, so beware."]The snakes ... plus one alligator ... were taken to the Kentucky Reptile Zoo. • you are correct. BUT many owners of "hot" snakes do not keep them as PETS. they are for display, education, or research. there are some people that get them as pets, but don't label ALL owner's of "hot" reptiles as stupid. by your statement, i would assume NO domesticated animal should be kept as a pet?...that means, no fish, no hamsters, and many other animals people call PETS.

  • my parents keep them too but they dont keep venomous only i do and im now breeding monicled cobras and this video is wrong those snakes are barely deadly the worst one is the monicled cobra ive been bitten by copperheads a number of times thier bite is the least likely to kill u and only 4 deaths are recorded each year in the US from owning pottentially dangerous reptiles

  • Now one of the people busted in this raid has an Animal Planet show. Veron Short is appearing in Snakeman show. Animal Planet keeps lowering the bar of programing for ratings with shows like Snakeman, Rattlesnake Republic and Call of the Wildman. Shows stereotype the south as well as spreading misinformation about the animals. Animal Planet surprisingly stupid not human.

  • How are people supposed to trust the news they are watching when they talk about something that does not exist? I happen to be very OCD when people say poisonous snakes, no such thing. Only venomous.

  • @licmy3balls There's an exception to every rule. I wouldn't under-estimate a Copperhead any more than I would a Black Mamba. Even if you don't die, you're going to wish you did for a week or more post bite!

  • oh my god again. some news crew decides to find the deepest country accent in kentucky and to show the world thats what all of kentucky is like. ITS NOT!!! i live in kentucky we wear shoes, and brush our teeth!!

  • Guys could've moved to a place where hots were legal. Dummy!

  • fuck more fuckin comercials

  • What hurts the reptile community the most. Are the illiterate people that try to defend them. Please learn to spell and for god's sake formulate a scentence. Then please proof read your gibberish before posting. I hope you can read although I doubt you would care too. On how to properly take care of such dangerous animals.

  • THUMBS UP IF UR A COOL KENTUCKIAN
