Is religion battered woman's syndrome?

Do you suffer from battered woman's syndrome? I hope that everyone can watch this video with an open mind. For if you feel that questioning your faith, or questioning your view of god, will banish you to eternal torment, then you clearly are in an abusive relationship. If someone truly loves you they would not be capable of torturing you for all of eternity. Sadly, that is apparently not obvious to most.

@JamesCarlos88 So how do you decide what is a parable and what isn't? In my experience, the noisiest of the preachers in here pick and choose which verses to use and the only thing they base it on is their own feelings on what suits them and makes them feel comfortable. You're no different.

The bible is so full of contradictions that to nail down any one definition would be contradicting other parts anyway. You ask, "Did Jesus go around preaching to hurt others?" Yes he did. have you read your bible? Try Luke 12:47-48

It certainly wouldn't be becoming the laughing stock of the world throwing up ignorant leaders like Bush or Sarah Palin or the rest of the Republican loonies. It wouldn't have mega churches fleecing their ignorant flocks of billions of dollars..tax free. Money that would be better directed to, oh I don't know, healing the sick, you know, like Jesus allegedly did. Next you ask, "when was a true Christian violent?"

This linking of atheism with communism like they are somehow mutually linked or like Christianity and communism are mutually exclusive is far too simplistic. Religion is BOTH battered woman's syndrome, AND child abuse. It is rape of the mind, a real brain-fuck. It is torture and a guilt trip being imposed on us. Religion is ignorance, anti-science and anti-knowledge, and anti-choice. I can certainly do without it.
