The United States began bombing Afghanistan 26 days after the 9/11 attacks.

The invasion led to the fall of the Taliban government, but the ten years that followed have been marked by ongoing security challenges and slow reconstruction.

Despite those challenges, some Afghans have come out ahead. But, fears that the country may fall back into the hands of the Taliban are making it difficult for them to live normal lives once again.

Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith, reporting from Kabul, takes a closer look at how some Afghans are overcoming their challenges.
