Today we are going to show you part number 3489-AT from Master Lock. What we have is a trailer hitch locking ball mount with a 3 quarter inch rise or 2 inch . This ball mount is rated for 6000 pounds. The main feature about this ball mount is that it does not require a hitch pin or a locking hitch pin. Simply because it is already built into the side or built inside the ball mount itself. What happens is you go ahead and pull off the protective cover. As you can see the pin comes out and grabs the hitch. It only comes out enough to meet the end of the hitch. Anything else is just going to be a waste of steel. So it will fit right in there just fine. We will go ahead and install it and show you how it works again.

Again just slide it into the 2 inch receiver hitch and match up the holes. Then put the key in there and give it a turn. Then you see how it comes out and meets the hitch pin hole and stops right there pull your key out. Then put your cover back in and your ready to tow. One other nice feature about this ball mount is it uses the one tool torque. So basically when you install the one torque ball it just sits into place and fits in here. Then you only need one tool to tighten down the ball. The measurement of this ball mount is measured from here from the top of the shank here to the bottom plate here. That is going to be 4 inches. Also all the inside of the Master Lock is made out of stainless steel. So obviously it will be corrosion resistant and have and have a long life span. This is rated for 6000 pounds trailer. Up to a 6000 pound tongue weight. The lock mechanism is also manufactured from stainless steel and aluminum parts. Which allows for maximum corrosion resistance. So there you have it for part number 3489-AT from Master Lock.
