This is a spoof I made of the famous Universal Studios movie studio logo. The name, "Buster Bear" in the title is derived from our beloved family dog, Buster . . . his nickname is Buster Bear. When making this and my other movie studio logo spoofs, I decided to use him as the spoofed studio name.

PRODUCTION NOTES: For an added twist, I extended the animation after the initial well-known opening, to include "And Now Our FEATURE PRESENTATION". To be fair, I did not model the space ship seen in that portion of the video . . . I just animated it and added a blue glow to the engine exhaust chamber.

It takes about 6 to 8 different software applications to create each of my animation videos. Each application has its own specialized function (3D modeling, 3D animation, texture creation, photo manipulation, particle effects, motion tracking, multi-track audio editing and sweetening, compositing, final editing, and video conversion / compression).

DISCLAIMER: Buster Bear Universal is NOT an actual studio. This video was produced for educational purposes in the study of 3D animation, compositing, and special effects.

  • Oh wow, you did the planet and all that stuff? Great job!

  • THANKS! I did not make the Millenium Falcon space ship, though . . . that was just animated with an exhaust effect added.

  • i'm not good with animation and such. lol ha ha ha

  • 3D studio max can also do this

  • To make the Universal Logo (only the lettering, "Buster Bear UNIVERSAL") I used a program called Carrara 3D Basics. It's a great program for bending and twisting 3D text.

  • I don't recall which font (or letter style) I used to make the Universal text, if that was what you wanted to know. The animation, though, can be done in just about any 3D software program. To tell you (in detail) how I actually made this is way too complicated to explain in a forum like this, and I'm sorry to say that I don't make tutorial videos. I use about 6 to 8 different software applications to create my animations, which is explained under "more info" to the right. Thanks for watching!

  • You could have the USS Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation in that video.

  • The actual countdown itself does not exist in Motion. It was composited into motion along with the titling. The countdown is from a library of countdowns that I have.

  • The countdown itself was not custom made. The title graphic screen with the countdown was done in Apple's Motion software.

  • The Millenium Falcon (of the Star Wars legacy) is actually from 20th Century Fox. It was the only spaceship I had at the time. I put it in just for fun to allow for a unique transition from the studio name to the "And Now Our FEATURE PRESENTATION" title.
