Taken from the movie "Billy Jack".

Lyrics (unconfirmed):

we're a rainbow made of children
we're an army, singing songs
there's no weapon that can stop us
rainbow love is much too strong

big man posner took his rifle
defending mom and apple pie
so i offered him a flower
he just stood and asked me why

my old grandma was a princess
and my granddad was a chief
thanks to those of our white neighbors
both my folks are on relief

i was raised in mississippi
saying yes sir to all man
but i found it got me nowhere
so i won't say it again

  • To bad they were not able to make more of the Billy Jack movies. I own all three. This song had a great impact on me personally. I am still part of the rainbow. I will try to write the son of Billy Jack; Russell Ray, or something like that LOL. I love it!

  • @disgruntledgoatiam Finaly! Some one else besides me had a crush on her.She was even hotter(and older) in the Trial Of Billy Jack, Joy(the indian girl in Yellow was pretty nice looking too, especaly in the soda shop scene.

  • the third verse is:

    I was raised in mississippi

Saying "yes sir" to all of the men

But I found that it got me no where

    so I won't...say it again

  • Even though she was a freaking hippie, I always had a crush on her as a kid when I watched the movie in the 70's. She, as well as some of the other girls were really pretty!

  • third verse: I was raised in mississippi

    playing jester to "the man"

but I found it got me no where

so I won't play it again!

    I love this song!

  • I believe the last verse goes as follows:

I was taught that black was evil,

I was taught that white was good,

But, when you become a Rainbow

    Every color's understood

  • lyrics plz?
