The Beatles - Glass Onion 1968

"Glass Onion" is a song by The Beatles from The Beatles primarily written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. This is the first track on the White Album to feature Ringo Starr on drums. Starr briefly left the group during recording sessions for the album and was replaced on drums by Paul McCartney on both "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Dear Prudence".

The song's "The Walrus was Paul" lyric is both a reference to "I Am the Walrus" and Lennon saying "something nice to Paul" in response to changes in their relationship at that time. Later, the line was interpreted as a "clue" in the "Paul is dead" urban legend that alleged McCartney died in 1966 during the recording of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and was replaced by a look-alike and sound-alike. The line is preceded with "Well, here's another clue for you all". * John Lennon -- double-tracked vocal, acoustic guitar * Paul McCartney -- bass, piano, recorder * George Harrison -- lead guitar * Ringo Starr -- drums, tambourine * George Martin -- string arrangement * Henry Datyner -- violin * Eric Bowie -- violin * Norman Lederman -- violin * Ronald Thomas -- violin * John Underwood -- viola * Keith Cummings -- viola * Eldon Fox -- cello * Reginald Kilby -- cello * Alex Ashtiani -- banjo

In other news, I have added the lyrics to this song so you can sing along, or perhaps learn the song! This is how I learned my first Beatles song! Enjoy :)

  • If Paul really did die, why would the impsoter continue pretending to be Paul for all these years? The impsoter would not have formed Wings as Paul McCartney, or continue a solo career as Paul McCartney. They would have just stopped talking about him and he would disappear, not allow this look-a-like-sing-a-like-talk-a-like to continue the lies. Paul isn't dead. He is still very much with us.

  • i wish i could marry this song

  • WALRUSES.

  • 1962, my mother was born, all through her teens this was her all time fav song...1997, i was born. This is still my favorite song. <3

  • besides why are we arguing about this shit!

just shut the hell up and enjoy this art! dam!

  • this song is pretty much about how john Lennon planted all sorts of hidden messages about Paul and the Beatles to mess with the fans of them who over analysed there songs.

all the "hidden messages" about paul being dead and stuff. ARE real... but they were planted there for the fans who over analysed and i guess his little inside prank worked on the fools who believe Paul is dead.

  • The Walrus was Paul......

  • @johnwayne743 there are two ways to look at that. some people who saw that stupid movie with george harrisons "last testamet", which says that paul looked like a wlrus or something after a car crash. thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard. i think this is a referance to the cover of magical mystery tour, which was released way after pauls supposed death in 1966. if paul lived to be on that cover, then he didn't die in that car crash. paul is alive.

  • @JonBonBowie But what means this : walrus was paul

  • Paul is not dead. Why would they keep up the hoax for so many years? John Lennon said he liked teasing his fans to keep them guessing and FYI Ringo's real name is Richard Starkey

  • @JonBonBowie he literally FORMED wings
