McCain adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin lays out McCain's position on telcom power.

McCain 2008 adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin once said that John McCain opposed "concentrations of power" in communications. But McCain's new Internet "Freedom" Act prevents the FCC from cracking down on providers who want to block or slow access to certain kind of internet activity. Sounds pretty concentrated to us...

  • I agree, although I would say ameoba and quantum physics.

I wonder what McCain's fairly liberal (by comparison) daughter would say about this on her blogging?

It's shear corporate greed trying to charge for 'premium' speed internet by a monopoly which already exists. How many big internet providers are there? 3? 4? Far too few to exist without strictures on service and fairness!

  • I guess that is why he appearing on news media shows alot since the 2008 election. Promoting the control of internet by corporations! Good job blocking his nutty theories FCC.

  • When McCain demonstrates he has an even rudimentary understanding of the net neutrality issue, I'll take his "stance" seriously. Based on his current stance and the reasons for it, I'd say he understands net neutrality and the reasons why we need it about as well as a donkey understands algebra.
