Umz at new year festival in Melbourne Australia..the vovinam students here ..mostly Yellow bell with red stripe..can perform those leg techs so easily

they are not as fast..but flipping around, lock your neck with their legs is no problem.

just like tae kwon do and wushu, vovinam looks good for performance; but when it's used in real combat, they would get crushed

really? then why would it take 20 police officers to arrest one vovinam master. Also during interrogation the police was so scared that theyd get beat up they had 4 officers at four corners and the great master phuong in the middle just to make sure he wont escape.

Dude this is my opinion, i cant do it so what. I still think they are really good and thats how vovinam should be represented (to me, if u didnt catch that fact a long time ago). If every1 held back their criticism then wed be a bunch of relativists, if u even know what that means.

man these vietnamese are good, deadly too. but they're so peaceful and humble. I guess when have to defend themselves, they turn into these leg twisting machines lol

Btw I also want to mention that ancient Chinese text recorded that Lac Viet people (our ancestors) used tea leaves to make drink :D Tea is a plant that flourish in tropical regions, not cold regions, so I would imagine that tea spread from "Southern countries" to the North (Japan, Korean, Northern China etc...)

Today people in Vietnam don't drink tea a lot. Blame it to Coke, Pepsi and other more tasty drinks. :D But in the olden time, tea was definitely an important drink in Vietnamese culture. Have you ever heard the Viet saying "Khach den nha khong tra cung banh"? This saying shows that tea was essential in the life of Vietnamese, the drink that they use to treat whoever comes to their house. If you go to rural parts of VN, you'll still tea pots on dining tables of every house. :D

we don't drink tea that much :) We don't particularly like tea like the chinese or the japanese or the british. And not so many people know martial art either :) But who said that?
