Wow! A negro spiritual from a time when oppression was at its highest in America can be understood for a time of freedom cries from around the world. African americans had faith that change would come. We marched, prayed, bled and were jailed, beaten, raped, hung, skined, burned, attacked by dogs and fire hoses, and killed and today President Barack Hussein Obama sits at head of America. Our struggle for freedom paid off because a african american man is President.

What a sad moment in Middle Eastern History. I am from Saudi Arabia & the killing of women is an ordinary thing in the middle east. Russians, Europeans & US treat their women better. You have used a beautiful song from your african american history to share with the senseless murder of a beautiful Iranian woman who was free outside of the middle east. Your voice is very beautiful and moving. Reminds me of cries of woman from middle east that I heard when i was a little girl in middle east.
