Making a true 3d sphere in motion is tricky so here is a sudo way of doing it using cameras

  • As the name suggests, it is called Motion 3. It comes with Final Cut Studio 2. Very neat program collection.

  • Nice as usual!

  • Had to reinstall motion disc 1, got it back though - pfft, this software is so tempromental sometimes...

  • I made the basic blur sphere yesteray, came back today 'this file could not be found'

How has it deleted itself?!?! How do I get this file back?

  • Right, figured out how to keep the size constant - it was due to the speed being too high, but I kinda fucked up up the camera movement, couldn't put the background in without it rotating on the axis too :/

Its different from what you did, but the sphere itself looks the same, and it kind of comes toward the screen, then further away, so it looks kinda cool

  • I tried to create this. Almost perfect, except that when I play it, the sphere expands - how to I keep its size constant?

  • i dont like how you zoomed in on the mouse it was distracting but good vid

  • I just got this software and have been watching your tutorials and this is the first one I decided to try. But for some reason when I get to 1:54 my ball looks the same but my rays are getting cut off by the borders. I tried increasing the size of my group and emitter but it just enlarges everything but the cut off is still there. Please help :)

  • you are so creative. honestly, these tutorials are awesome!

  • What is the canvas size he uses?

When I try to recreate these objects, mine appears to be too big for the canvas and goes offscreen

  • Hey hey - Thank you so much for posting this - granted you did it in 2008 but that was still a great presentation!
